Jeanette Van Der Valk

Jeannette’s fibre-based practice explores the expressive potential of needle felting through the transformation of raw sheep’s fleece into one-of-a-kind pictorial works. Engaging material, colour, and texture as primary elements, she constructs richly layered surfaces that evoke a sense of warmth, tactility, and quiet presence. Her process reflects an intuitive dialogue between hand and material, where softness becomes structure and fibre becomes image.
Based in Parry Sound, Ontario, Jeannette has developed her felting practice over the past four years.
